This workshop is an introduction to working with ASD / ASC / Aspergers clients. Through a mixture of presenting and group discussion we will explore the concerns around working with this client group, dispel some myths and look at effective ways of tweaking traditional therapy to make it more suitable for this client group. We will explore the many and interconnecting issues a person on the spectrum may be dealing with. We will look at the childhood development of people on the spectrum as this is crucial in understanding their experience as an adult. Therefore, the day should be useful whether you are working with children, adults, partners or parents. There will be time to raise questions, share experiences and best practice.
