Free online seminar for CaPPP members hosted by Angela McCormack
Event Description:
The current pandemic is a challenging context for engaging in therapeutic work, and it is vital that we uphold our wellbeing as therapists. This trauma-informed online seminar is designed to provide an opportunity to creatively reflect on how we can resource ourselves in deepening our resilience and wellbeing in these troubling times.
Facilitator Profile: Angela McCormack
I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist, MBACP, clinical supervisor, facilitator, trainer and independent consultant. I have a career history in both business and charity management. I specialize in working with trauma, in both my private practice in Wellington, Somerset, and with a range of organisations in the south west.
I am a Senior Therapist at The Green House Bristol, a specialist sexual trauma centre, where I have worked since 2010. I also work as a clinical supervisor at SARSAS – Somerset and Avon Sexual Abuse Services. Additionally, I am a clinical supervisor to all the operational staff at Barnardo’s BASE specialist child sexual & criminal exploitation teams in Bristol, as well as other Barnardo’s Bristol and Somerset services. I also offer clinical supervision to MIND in Somerset. I have worked with clients in one-to-one and group settings, for both psychotherapy and clinical supervision and I have completed over 15,000 post- qualification, supervised, clinical hours.
As an independent consultant and professional trainer in the commercial and charity sectors, I have delivered a wide variety of training courses including working with complex trauma, vicarious trauma and building resilience, sexual trauma, sexually harmful (perpetrator) behaviour, working with males, working with body-centred mindfulness, and legal and ethical issues in the helping professions. In addition to my own private consultancy work, I have been commissioned to facilitate workshops for a range of organisations including Bath and North East Somerset Council, North Somerset Council, Bristol City Council, The London Borough of Camden, the NHS and Avon and Somerset Police.
