SUMMARY:CaPPP Member's Free Annual Gathering & AGM 2020
DESCRIPTION:The theme of this year’s Annual Gathering is navigating the landscape of trauma and will be hosted by Angela McCormack.\n\n\n\nTheme: Navigating the Landscape of Trauma\nThis is a two-part seminar and will begin with an exploration of trauma in general\, from context-sensitive and body-based perspectives. Afterwards\, we will focus on the terrain of sexual trauma\, and some the nuances and challenges this work can present. \nDescription: \nUsing a balance of facilitator input and focused breakout group reflection sessions\, we will explore how\, as therapists\, we can uphold the healing process in our clients from an authentic\, open\, attuned and informed place. Building on our understanding of how trauma manifests in our bodies and echoes the stories of our personal contexts\, we will reflect on the particular nuances of working with sexual trauma and how we might support the healing processes of our clients. \nFacilitator Profile: Angela McCormack \n“I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist\, MBACP\, clinical supervisor\, facilitator\, trainer and independent consultant. I have a career history in both business and charity management. I specialise in working with trauma\, in both my private practice in Wellington\, Somerset\, and with a range of organisations in the south west. \nI am a Senior Therapist at The Green House Bristol\, a specialist sexual trauma centre\, where I have worked since 2010. I have also worked as a clinical supervisor at SARSAS – Somerset and Avon Sexual Abuse Support since 2013. Additionally\, since 2016\, I have been clinical supervisor to all the operational staff at Barnardo’s Bristol specialist child sexual & criminal exploitation teams in Bristol\, as well as other Barnardo’s Bristol and Somerset services. I have also offered clinical supervision to staff from MIND in Somerset since 2016. I have worked with clients in one-to-one and group settings\, for both psychotherapy and clinical supervision and I have completed over 15\,000 post- qualification\, supervised\, clinical hours. \nAs an independent consultant and professional trainer in the commercial and charity sectors\, I have delivered a wide variety of training courses including working with complex trauma\, vicarious trauma and building resilience\, sexual trauma\, sexually harmful (perpetrator) behaviour\, working with males\, working with body-centred mindfulness\, and legal and ethical issues in the helping professions. In addition to my own private consultancy work\, I have been commissioned to facilitate workshops for a range of organisations including Bath and North East Somerset Council\, North Somerset Council\, Bristol City Council\, The London Borough of Camden\, the NHS and Avon and Somerset Police.” \nProgramme: \nRegistration 9.30 to 9.55 (if attending AGM & Annual Gathering) \nAGM 10.00 to 11.00 \nBreak & registration 11.00 to 11.25 (registration if not attending the AGM) \nAnnual Gathering part 1 – 11.30 to 13.00 \nLunch break 13.00 to 14.00 \nAnnual Gathering part 2 – 14.00 to 15.30 \nClosing plenary 15.30 to 15.45 \nBooking: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cappp-members-free-annual-gathering-agm-2020-tickets-97981464197  \nPlaces must be booked in advance by 18.00 on Wednesday 16th September.
